The training program

Goals

Improve balance, coordination, proprioception, vision, reaction time, conditioning, core strength and the ability to accelerate, decelerate and change direction rapidly and efficiently.

Why is this important?

In the highly competitive world of sport, athletes are always looking for an edge. Athletes look to find at least one thing to help to widen the margin and compete at the highest level they can. A program that can maximize an athletes’ performance while also decreasing the risk of injury is key to widening the competition gap.

Through Speed, Agility, and Quickness (SAQ) training one can improve balance, coordination, proprioception, vision, reaction time, conditioning, and core strength. This is why SAQ training is great for all sports.

The ability to rapidly and efficiently accelerate, decelerate and change direction is an essential element of success. Having the physical capacities required to maintain explosive speed (repeat sprint ability) to the final whistle will set you apart from your opposition. Breaking away from your opponent and maintaining control at a fast pace are all attributed to athletic function and speed development. This program will focus on perfecting these skills while dramatically increasing agility, speed, explosive strength, and power.
